Genres Wk. 23: Psychological Thriller

Hello Travellers,

Hope your week has been well. This week’s blog will be a brief on the psychological thriller sub-genre. Enjoy.

What is a Psychological Thriller?

Psychological thrillers are a sub-genre of the thriller genre, as well as horror and/or mystery that plays into the unstable and delusional. A psychological thriller deals with more character than the general thriller, with a large amount of the suspense coming from the state of mind of the main characters.

The thing that readers are informed about are intentions and motivations, as opposed to medical procedures, technology or environmental disasters. Often themes such as life, death, perception or identity are wound through these stories.
